Spring Summer Kitchem Trends

Spring Summer Kitchen Trends

With each turn of the season the KBB industry sees a wave of new trends and styles. Whilst we will all inevitably go for a style which will stand the test of time, brands will always bring out some great new features to add a stylish and modern twist to every kitchen or bathroom.

Smart Kitchens

The biggest trend which has already arisen; and will continue to do well is the Smart Kitchen. Technology is now at the forefront of our lives and won’t stop when we walk into our kitchen. So what can we get? How about wireless charging pads built into Corian worktops. We carry our phones wherever we go, including into the kitchen. Superseding the charging sockets built into worktops and units, wireless technology from Corian now lets you charge your smart phone by simply placing it on the charge-pad built into the Corian. Smart eh?

Then you have the new appliances created with Home Connect from the BSH Group (that’s Neff, Bosch and Siemens for non-industry folk). You can switch your oven on, turn down the slow cooker or ease your workload by letting your mobile phone app choose the best washing program for you. In a world where fast passed lives give us less and less time to spend at home, now you can manage your home, from your phone.

Darker Floors

White minimalist kitchens have been popular for a while now, but trends are veering away from the matching white floor towards a darker textured surface. From mahogany planks to rich anthracite tiling you’ll see darker floors coming into fashion. The trend gives end users a greater depth to their kitchens and it lifts the stark modern kitchens to make them warmer and more homely.

Literally where grey meets beige. The perfect midpoint between cool and minimalist greys, and the warmer more homely beige. You can go for greige tiles to lift a room or go the whole hog and choose greige kitchen units. A very liveable colour which can be a whole load of different tones depending on taste. It’s also super classic so will stand the test of time. Leicht- the number 1 German kitchen brand- offers a stunning range of greige tones. If you can’t find what you’re looking for they also offer a colour matching service for their kitchens. You find that perfect tone, they will match it! Voila- your perfect kitchen.

Black Appliances

Stainless steel has many merits but a resurgence of black appliances is seen this season. Brands like Miele, Siemens and Fisher and Paykel are jumping on this bandwagon.
