Worktops

Ultra-Compact Surfaces

Ultra-compact surface is the term we use to describe a game-changing new worktop surface which is made by combining the raw materials found naturally in porcelain, quartz, and glass, and using extreme heat and pressure to create an almost indestructible surface. Ultra-compact surfaces are typically baked at 1200º Celsius, and compressed at 5900 pounds per square inch.

Brands that we fabricate and install include Neolith, Silestone and Dekton with various examples in our Loughborough showroom.

Glass

With colours to suit all tastes, lifestyles and living spaces glass worktops can be the perfect way to give your kitchen and bathroom the added 'WOW' factor. We only supply low iron glass which has a minimal green tint to keep our colours bold and consistent. You can have both high shine and matte finished with a stunning range of colours OR why not get it colour matched to match the rest of your home.

Glass worktops can span up to 3.6m WITHOUT joints so it adds that seamless hygienic finish to any kitchen. These worktops are non-porous, heat shock resistant (up to 200°c) and are stain, acid, chemical and water resistant. Our glass worktops have a 10 year guarantee against discoloration and delamination when fitted by one of our local professional installers.

Quartz

Quartz worktops are fabricated from natural quartz, one of the hardest minerals found in the Earth, and small amounts of glass or metallic flecks are added to create variety, resulting in beautiful worktops. Other advantage of quartz is that it is a non-porous material, its texture does not allow bacteria to grow and resists against stains, protecting your family and making kitchen clean-up easy. For this reason, quartz worktops never need to be sealed.

Aside from the durability that quartz provides, this material is beautiful and its wide variety of colour options is sure to catch your eye. Your options are nearly endless as quartz ranges from natural colours such as whites, blacks and browns to other colours such as golds or blues. The design of a quartz worktop not only brings character to your kitchen but offers performance advantages that exceed other traditional materials.

Corian

Corian® Solid Surface offers design versatility, functionality and durability. Supplied in sheets and shapes, it can be fabricated with conventional woodworking tools into virtually any design. It is the original Solid Surface material made only by DuPont. It is widely

accepted as a material for countertops, vanity tops, tub/shower walls, kitchen sinks, vanity basins and laboratory bench tops in numerous markets including lodging, healthcare, banks, boutiques, restaurants.

Granite

Another one of the most commonly used materials for worktops is granite. Like quartz, this material is also very resilient. Granite is a natural rock that is cut in its natural state and is then polished for use in homes. Maintenance after each use is suggested to prevent staining with granite. To clean granite, use warm water and soap to help keep its shine.

Such a strong material is difficult to scratch and is able to resist temperature changes. Because it is natural stone, granite doesn’t provide as wide of a range of colour options and each piece is different, therefore, often kitchens need to be planned around the slab that is chosen. That being said, planning a kitchen around a granite worktop is not always a simple task.

Wood

A traditional favourite for its natural warmth and the character, wooden worktops come with a unique appeal. No other material can bring so much warmth, life and natural feeling like solid wood. Hardwoods are often preferred such as oak, walnut and iroko but the overall selection of colours, grains, thicknesses and finishes available is staggering. We can also create bespoke features such as islands, breakfast bars and shelving.

Laminates

Top-quality laminate worktops allow built-under sink installation - a particularly attractive solution. In this modern form of installation, there is virtually no visible or tangible transition between the sink and the worktop. The laminate worktops used by LEICHT consist of several layers of resin and paper and are manufactured in a high-pressure procedure. The decor paper is protected from mechanical impact by a transparent overlay. LEICHT offers an extensive range of laminate worktops to suit all kitchen fronts. In different thicknesses of 1.7 and 3, 4 and 6 cm. Laminate worktops permit flush inset sinks.
